Outbound Call Recording Pricing
What the seat price misses.
Aircall, JustCall, and Nooks all describe call recording, but their published pages answer different buying questions. Aircall exposes a starting license price and separates dashboard access from longer access by request. JustCall publishes a Team license price and says recording is enabled by default, while its Salesforce connection requires a higher tier. Nooks describes automatic recording and transcription, but asks buyers to request a custom quote. The useful comparison is the cost of the plan that keeps recordings accessible in the CRM workflow you actually use. 1 35 6
- Start with Aircall if a published seat price and an explicit recording-access row are central to your shortlist. 1
- Test JustCall if per-number recording control matters, then price the CRM integration tier you need. 45
- Request a Nooks quote if automatic recording and transcription is the goal; verify retention settings in the proposed workspace. 67
The plan comparison before the demo
| Buying question | Aircall | JustCall | Nooks |
|---|---|---|---|
| Published starting point | Essentials $30 per license per month on the captured pricing view (confirm the billing period); three-user minimum 1 | Team $29 per user per month billed annually; two-license minimum 3 | Custom quote requested 6 |
| Recording | Call recording appears in the plan table 1 | Enabled by default on JustCall numbers, with a per-number control 4 | Automatic Recording & Transcription listed on the pricing page 6 |
| Access and retention | Essentials: up to one year by request, six months in dashboard; Professional: unlimited by request, six months in dashboard 1 | Confirm the storage and retrieval term in a plan-specific quote | Retention off by default means recordings and transcripts are stored indefinitely; turning it on deletes them after a chosen period 7 |
The displayed dollar figures are vendor pricing-page starting points, not a matched three-vendor quote. Aircall's captured page lists Professional at $50 per license per month. JustCall lists Pro Plus at $89 per user per month billed annually. Those higher rates should not be interpreted as the cost of every recording requirement: ask which exact tier covers the workflow and storage period you need. Nooks' pricing page invites a custom quote, so a numeric Nooks comparison requires a vendor proposal. 1 3 6
Aircall: dashboard access and retrieval are different
Aircall's plan comparison explicitly lists call recording. Its recording-access row is more revealing than a simple included checkmark. For Essentials, the page says up to one year is available by request and six months is available in the dashboard. For Professional, it says unlimited access by request, again with six months in the dashboard. If a manager expects to search for an older call without filing a request, that distinction belongs in the purchase decision. Ask Aircall to demonstrate the normal retrieval process and to state the applicable terms in writing. 1
The plan floor matters as well. Aircall shows a three-user minimum for Essentials and Professional. Multiplying the displayed $30 Essentials rate by three gives a $90 monthly license subtotal, before other charges. At the displayed $50 Professional rate, three licenses give a $150 monthly subtotal. These are calculations from a page view, not invoices or promises about taxes, usage, numbers, or a negotiated contract. 1
Salesforce can change the tier decision. Aircall's Salesforce setup documentation says an Aircall Professional or Custom Enterprise plan is required. It also says no calls are logged until at least one number is connected to Salesforce. A recording test should therefore include a real connected number and a call that appears on the intended CRM record. A demo of recording inside Aircall alone does not establish that the Salesforce workflow is configured. 2
JustCall: recording controls and CRM history
JustCall's recording help page says recording is enabled by default on its numbers and can be enabled or disabled individually in Phone Numbers settings. This gives an administrator a concrete test: inspect the setting for each number that the team will use, place a call, and verify where its recording appears. The setting described by the vendor does not by itself answer every legal, consent, storage, or export question, so those terms need separate review for the team's jurisdictions and contract. 4
JustCall's Team card displays $29 per user per month billed annually and a two-license minimum. At that displayed rate, two licenses make a $58 monthly license subtotal on annual billing. The Pro Plus card displays $89 per user per month and the same minimum-license text in the captured pricing view. These arithmetic subtotals isolate license cost; they do not establish which plan has the right recording storage or CRM configuration for a specific account. Request the current plan matrix and an itemized quote before comparing final spend. 3
For Salesforce, JustCall's help page says its integration is available on Pro or above. The same page warns that calls made before the Salesforce integration was connected cannot be logged or imported into Salesforce. That makes setup order a procurement issue: connect the integration before the pilot calls whose history must appear in the CRM. Verify a new call, its contact match, and the recording link in the CRM instead of assuming old activity can be backfilled. 5
Nooks: a quoted package and a retention switch
Nooks' pricing page asks buyers to contact its team for a custom quote and lists Automatic Recording & Transcription among its features. It also says Nooks integrates with HubSpot and Salesforce; for another CRM, its pricing FAQ describes uploading a CSV list to the AI Dialer. Use the demo to check the CRM object and playable recording, and request the seat rate in the custom proposal. Ask for a written scope that identifies the integration, recording access, and any implementation conditions. 6
Nooks' retention documentation says the retention policy is off by default and recordings and transcripts are then stored indefinitely. When the policy is on, they are deleted after a specified period. The page describes that deletion as permanent and irreversible. A buyer with a deletion requirement should confirm who can turn the policy on, what period is set, and what happens to a sample call after expiry. A buyer with a long coaching-review cycle should test the opposite: whether the intended reviewers can find older calls before any policy change. 7
Treat the Nooks custom proposal as the price source for a matched comparison with Aircall or JustCall. Put the same team size, contract term, recording access, transcription, CRM connection, onboarding, and retention settings into all three quote requests so the returned proposals answer one decision. 6
A recording procurement test worth running
Use one pilot scenario with each vendor. Connect the intended CRM, place a call from a production-like number, locate the recording from the contact or activity record, and have a second permitted user retrieve it. Then ask how an older recording is retrieved. This is a proposed test, not a vendor performance claim. It probes Aircall's dashboard-versus-request distinction, JustCall's per-number recording control and pre-integration history limit, and Nooks' retention setting. 1 45 7
Write the result next to the quote. Record the exact tier, minimum seats, contract term, CRM edition or integration prerequisite, who can access recordings, retrieval process, and deletion setting. Aircall's Salesforce requirement and JustCall's Pro-or-above rule show why entry-seat arithmetic can understate the price of a working CRM setup. Nooks' custom-quote model means the same checklist has to be answered in its proposal. 2 5 6

How we researched this
We checked vendor pricing, recording, retention, and CRM setup pages on October 8, 2026. The facts above point to saved page excerpts and the public vendor pages below. The cost subtotals are arithmetic from the displayed license rates and seat minimums. The pilot and quote checklist are editorial buying advice, not a claim that a vendor guarantees a particular result.
